Life at the Helier

A Daffodil Day to Remember

We had a fantastic turnout for our Daffodil Day event — a vibrant celebration that was both informative and uplifting.

To kick things off with a powerful talk from Dr Judy Huang, a gastroenterologist and volunteer with Mobile Health. Dr. Huang spoke in depth about bowel cancer and how to recognise its signs and symptoms, a timely reminder with a high incidence of this type of cancer in New Zealand.

The event fortuitously coincided with Fish & Chips Friday, and following the presentation the residents tucked into a beautifully fresh, crispy and golden offering from our culinary team.

To finish on a positive note our Senior Resident Concierge, Charlotte, hosted an uproarious quiz which she described as ‘very competitive.’ There were all sorts of hijinks and laughter. It was so well received we have another quiz planned soon!
