Life at the Helier

A Springtime Stroll in Cornwall Park

Undeterred by the weather, a group of nine of our residents laced up their walking shoes for a turn about Cornwall Park. Luckily for us the sun eventually appeared, allowing us to enjoy our outing all the more.

Spring is the perfect season to enjoy this treasure of central Auckland - a slice of countryside in the heart of the city.

From glorious blossoms and bluebells, new green leaves on towering oak trees, and darling little baby lambs - there were signs of new life around every corner. We were even surprised by the call of some very large pheasants along the way!

Though this was a familiar destination for many, we discovered one of our number had lived in Auckland all their life and had never been inside the grounds. It was wonderful to share in their delight and discovery of this popular spot.

A stop at the café for morning tea was the perfect way to end our trip before heading back home.
